Michael Bird is a writer and art his­tor­ian. He read Eng­lish at Oxford Uni­ver­sity, and has writ­ten on art, lit­er­at­ure and cul­tural his­tory for news­pa­pers and journ­als includ­ing The Times, the Guard­ian and Mod­ern Paint­ers. He is the author of Art in Corn­wall, pub­lished in our Pocket Corn­wall series, Lynn Chad­wick, 100 Ideas that Changed ArtSandra Blow, The St Ives Artists: A Bio­graphy of Place and Time, and Bryan Wynter, and editor of The Grasshop­per Laughs: A Faber Book of First Verse.
