Cornish Feasts and Fest­ivals book launch!

Cornish Feasts and Fest­ivals, the latest title in our Pocket Corn­wall series, was launched in style at the Mor­rab Lib­rary, Pen­zance, on Sat­urday, 4 May, with author, Liz Woods, and illus­trator, Freya Laughton.

Author Liz Woods speaks at the Fowey Festival

Liz Woods photoAuthor Liz Woods will be speak­ing at the Town Hall in Fowey at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday 12 May. Her talk  is called ‘Cornish Feasts and Fest­ivals: From Blog to Book’. Inspired by her love of his­tory, food and folk­lore, Liz star­ted a blog, Feasts and Fest­ivals, in 2010. Her talk tells how she then came to write a book. Not to be missed!

David Chap­man a final­ist in the Inter­na­tional Garden Pho­to­grapher of the Year competition!

North Cliffs, Cornwall, photo © David Chapman Pho­to­grapher and author David Chap­man is a final­ist in the Inter­na­tional Garden Pho­to­grapher of the Year com­pet­i­tion for 2012. The win­ners will be announced on 1 March. These are the chosen images: a song thrush feed­ing on holly ber­ries, in David’s garden, and a view of heather on the North Cliffs near Hell’s Mouth, in Corn­wall. David is the author of numer­ous books, includ­ing, most recently, the best­selling Pho­to­graph­ing Corn­wall, in which he passes on hints on tak­ing land­scape pho­tos.
