Cornish Feasts and Festivals book launch!

Cornish Feasts and Festivals, the latest title in our Pocket Cornwall series, was launched in style at the Morrab Library, Penzance, on Saturday, 4 May, with author, Liz Woods, and illustrator, Freya Laughton.

Author Liz Woods speaks at the Fowey Festival

Author Liz Woods will be speaking at the Town Hall in Fowey at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday 12 May. Her talk  is called ‘Cornish Feasts and Festivals: From Blog to Book’. Inspired by her love of history, food and folklore, Liz started a blog, Feasts and Festivals, in 2010. Her talk tells how she then came to write a book. Not to be missed!

David Chapman a finalist in the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition!

Photographer and author David Chapman is a finalist in the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition for 2012. The winners will be announced on 1 March. These are the chosen images: a song thrush feeding on holly berries, in David’s garden, and a view of heather on the North Cliffs near Hell’s Mouth, in Cornwall. David is the author of numerous books, including, most recently, the bestselling Photographing Cornwall, in which he passes on hints on taking landscape photos. We wish David the best of luck on 1 March!
